1. Flex Flap

The Flex Flap is my all time favorite thing to bring with me when I travel light. It gives you the perfect angle for watching TV or movies on your phone while in flight. It was developed by a former flight attendant who noticed that people were constantly having to bend their necks downward to watch TV or movies on their own devices. To use it, you simply hook it onto the back of your front airline seat and then mount your phone on it.

It’s extremely easy to carry when you’re traveling light because it is flat and malleable. I usually slide it into the laptop slot of a backpack.

Other uses:

  • Phone holder for cardio machine
  • Phone, tablet, or book stand for your kitchen counter
  • Purse hanger when dining out

2. Magnetic Pill Organizer

The magnetic pill organizer will fit enough pills for at least 1 weeks worth of travel or more, depending on your pill sizes. It magnetizes shut so nothing spills out, and it is small enough to be tossed into a bag or purse.

Instead of taking large pill containers that rob you of space in your suitcase, I suggest separating your pills into this pill organizer. Use this to carry your pills with you on the go.

3. Laundry Detergent Sheets

These laundry detergent sheets are incredibly useful when you’re traveling light. Whether you intend to wash clothes on the go or not, sometimes life happens and we may dirty something in transit or we don’t bring enough socks. These sheets dissolve easily into warm water to wash clothes in the sink or in a washing machine.

While in Greece we ended up running out of socks, so we threw one of these sheets into a sink with hot water. After laying our socks to dry outside, we were set for the next 7 days. Can’t express how convenient it was to not have to seek out a laundromat just for some socks.

Lastly, if you struggle with skin sensitivity and are mindful of what you wash your clothes with like me, then it’s a great idea to have your own detergent handy when traveling.

4. Cologne/Perfume Atomizer

Don’t have a travel size perfume or cologne? Pay attention to this little gadget. Instead of taking your entire perfume bottle, pump your perfume into an atomizer for a pocket-sized version of your favorite scent. It’s sort of unbelievable that this is possible, but believe me, my boyfriend uses this every time we travel – it was especially handy for a wedding we attended in Guatemala.

5. Bar Soap Case

Solid bar soaps are an excellent alternative to carrying liquid if you’re traveling light. You worry less about leaks and they tend to last a bit longer. What’s more, they don’t need to be carried in your clear TSA-approved Quart-sized bag because they are classified as a solid.

This carry case even fits larger bars of soap. I carry my large Dr. Bronner’s bar soaps in it and there is still wiggle room. It serves as both a tray and a carry case, which is great to keep your soap sanitary.

6. Universal Travel Adapter

Sometimes you find yourself in a situation where there is only a single outlet available, but you’ve got a bunch of devices to charge. A Universal Adapter will allow you the flexibility to charge your phone, tablet, e-reader, and laptop all at the same time.

The best Universal Travel Adapters come with prongs to use in Europe, the USA, the UK and Australia.
